Dera Documentary Videos
The Enigma of Love
The Enigma of Love is an almost three-hour documentary movie that tells the story of Dera Baba Jaimal Singh at Beas from its earliest days to the present. The first part of the film presents rare historical footage dating back to the 1930s, of the Masters who taught at the Dera, interwoven with dynamic scenes of the Dera today – showing the vast satsang venue, langar, farms, school, and modern accommodations.
Every year millions of people visit the Dera – sometimes up to half a million at a time. Food and shelter are provided graciously to everyone, without regard to caste or religion, as the visitors flock to imbibe their spiritual Master’s teachings and perform seva - voluntary selfless service for the benefit of the community.
The Dera is built on the foundation of love, humility, seva, and meditation. The film portrays how these principles are put into action through the enigma of love.
