Dera Beas Donates ₹8 Crore Towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund of 5 States
(Punjab Kesari, Jalandhar, 29 March 2020) – Dera Beas has come forward to the aid of the countrymen in their fight against Coronavirus. Dera Beas donated a sum of ₹ 8 crore towards the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister Relief Funds today. Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society gave ₹ 2 crore towards the Prime Minister Relief Fund and ₹ 1 crore each towards the Chief Minister Relief Funds of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu-Kashmir was handed a cheque of ₹ 1 crore.
It is worth mentioning that Radha Soami Satsang Ghar Dera Beas has taken the first step towards making food available for the needy. A helpline has been established by Dera Beas for the convenience of the families of the needy. Such families can also contact the local administration. According to the information received, the needy shall be provided with food thrice daily, namely at 6:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. The rural area is being covered under the supervision of SSP Navjot Mahal with the help of SP headquarters Ravindra Pal Sandhu from the district administration. In this endeavor the police are also providing full support to Dera Beas. Teams from Punjab police are accompanying Dera workers to distribute food for the needy. Presently, 2,000 food packets are being distributed from the Jalandhar Satsang Ghar. This number will be increased to 5-7000 as per requirements. It is the endeavor of the institution that no poor person shall go hungry.
