Radha soami satsang comes to the aid of the district administration during these difficult times of the lockdown. Refuge given to 1,000 migrants

(Ludhiana Bhaskar, Karnal, 31 March 2020) – The district and state borders have been sealed due to the lockdown, however, the migrants are insisting on going back to their homes. There is a race amongst the labourers from Bihar, U.P., M.P. and other states to achieve this goal, as a result of which, the necessary condition of ‘social distancing’ is being torn to shreds. At Karnal borders too the migrants are being stopped and arrangements for their food and stay are being made. In these difficult times the spiritual organisation, Radha Soami Satsang Bhawan, has lent support to the district administration because of which their problems have been taken care of to a large extent.

No one is being allowed to cross the district and state borders. More than 1500 migrants have been brought back from the roads and borders in the past three days. The district administration has also made arrangements at many places to stop the local and migrant labourers. 400 people have been brought to Radha Soami Satsang Bhawan, 380 to Sector-32 and 200 are in Kambopura Community Centre. There are 36 Satsang Bhawans of Satsang Beas in Karnal district. Their doors have been opened to the local, migrant and labourers from outside. 1000 migrants have been brought to the 3 Satsang Bhawans.

Service with such dedication that the migrants will remember these moments

Sewadars in large numbers are engaged in service day and night, at Radha Soami Satsang Bhawans which have been transformed into rest houses for the migrants. Hundreds of sewadars are serving the migrants, without any fee, considering them as their own so that when the situation returns to normal these migrants recollect their stay here with fondness. Women sewadars are engaged in cooking delicious food. Here optimal arrangements have been made for food, tea, bathing, washrooms, washing clothes, mobile charging, mattresses for distanced sleeping, cleanliness, personal sanitization etc. The migrants have also acknowledged that even in their homes such a good arrangement would not have been possible.

Great arangements for staying, medical examination, sanitization

There are 36 satsang Bhawans of Radha Soami Satsang Beas in Karnal district. Migrants from outside have been brought to 3 satsang ghars. All sewadars are serving them with the motto of ‘Atithi Devo Bhav’ (The Guest is like God). No one will have to face any difficulty whatsoever. Women are also being provided with articles relating to personal hygiene. Everybody is being sanitized.

Whoever is being brought here is through the district administration. The entire sewa is being done under the instructions of DC Nishant Kumar Yadav, SP Surendra Singh Bhauriya. The main sewadars of the Dera are in constant touch with the district administration. True humanity is to serve selflessly in times of need. During this period satsang is not being held in the Satsang Bhawans.

The district administration has also pressed teams of doctors into service at Radha Soami Satsang Bhawans. These teams are doing a round the clock primary health check-up of all the people who are brought here. In case of a doubt the person will be sent directly to the hospital from there. The remaining persons are made to stay there. The teams include women doctors and staff so that the migrant women do not face any difficulty.
