Meeting with the Pope
Baba Gurinder Singh and Hazur Jasdeep Singh were invited to Armenia at the invitation of the Patriarch Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian, of the Armenian Catholic Church. The invitation included a visit to the Holy Father, Pope Francis at the Vatican.
At the meeting with the Patriarch, Baba Ji and Hazur Ji spoke about the common ties that bind all faiths to the Creator. While we may have been separated by distance and language, our journey to return home and live in His will remains the unifying goal.
On the 5th of October Baba Gurinder Singh and Hazur Jasdeep Singh had an audience with Pope Francis. The Patriarch Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian was also present at the meeting.
Baba Ji started the meeting with an introduction of RSSB and stressed the commonality between the different faiths of the world. As an example he spoke about the importance of the “Word” and the “Shabad” amongst our paths. In both Catholicism and Sant Mat the creation began with the Word/Shabad and is sustained with the energy of the Creator through the Shabad. Baba Ji mentioned RSSB publishes over a hundred books that highlight the commonality between the faiths of the world and that the ultimate goal of all is to be one with the Creator.
The Holy Father, Pope Francis, stated that he respected any institution that laid emphasis on the unity amongst all people. That amongst this time of global uncertainty and conflict, harmony was essential and all of us must work towards that common goal.
Baba Ji also presented a set of books to Pope Francis, published by RSSB, that highlight how each faith in its own way has sought to lay a path of the journey of the soul to return to its Creator.
Baba Ji and Hazur Ji also visited Armenia, this was their first visit to the country and they left with fond memories of the people, the culture and the history of this ancient country.
The Holy Father Pope Francis requested Baba Ji to pray for him as he would in turn pray for Baba Ji.
