Preface to the Fourth Edition

This wonderful book was first published in 1959 and in a space of a little over a decade has gone through three editions. The third edition was revised and considerably enlarged. The root of its popularity undoubtedly lies in the bold and forthright manner in which the author has set out the teachings of the saints. In its range of appeal it covers a wide variety of persons – seekers and satsangis alike – and all those who have spiritual aspirations. It is hoped that the fourth edition will go a long way towards fulfilment of the needs of those who are thirsting for spiritual knowledge.
